Should You Supply the Tile or Should We?

Both work. We can source the tile directly, which can give you access to trade pricing, or we can install tile you have already purchased. If you buy your own tile, we will tell you how many square feet to order, including extra for cuts and future repairs. Do not let a supplier talk you into under-ordering, because running short mid-project can mean a dye lot that does not match.

How long does a tile installation take? A bathroom floor typically takes 1 to 2 days. A full shower surround is 2 to 4 days. A tub-to-shower conversion with full tile work usually runs 3 to 5 days, depending on demolition and waterproofing requirements. We give you a timeline before we start, so you know the start date and the expected completion date upfront.

Can tile go over existing tile? Sometimes, but not always. It depends on whether the existing tile is fully adhered, the condition of the substrate and whether the added height creates problems with transitions, doors or fixtures. We assess this during the consultation. If it is structurally sound and the height works, tiling over can save demolition time and cost. If it is not right, we tell you and explain why.
